EV CHARGER INSTALLATION

Charge at home.
Leave the prep to CK.

01 · ASSESS

The right electrical plan.

We review your panel, available capacity, charger location and wiring route before proposing work. Your vehicle and charger specifications help determine the installation.

02 · INSTALL

A clear written scope.

We explain the circuit, equipment, installation method and any panel or service changes needed. Permit and utility coordination requirements are reviewed before scheduling.

03 · DOCUMENT

Less paperwork guesswork.

We organize the electrical project documents so you understand what goes into your credit request. You stay in control of your Duke account and application.

WE HELP WITH THE PROCESS—DUKE DECIDES THE CREDIT

Installation and rebate support, step by step.

  1. Check eligibility before committing.

We help you identify your Duke utility territory and review the program checklist. Duke’s customer-credit requirements include property ownership and an eligible EV registered at the service address. The Carolinas amount shown here is not a promise for every utility territory.

  2. Separate eligible prep from other work.

We plan the wiring and equipment around your home and explain the quoted scope. Duke identifies charging-related wiring, conduit, outlets, breakers and panel work as potential qualifying costs. Not every project expense qualifies.

  3. Prepare the documentation.

CK supplies a detailed paid invoice separating labor, materials and permit costs, along with applicable approved permit documentation. The customer provides the EV registration. We help check the document package for completeness.

  4. Guide the customer’s submission.

Duke says the primary account holder or an authorized user should submit. We walk you through the process; we do not need your password. Any submission on your behalf requires proper authorization and confirmation that Duke permits it.

  5. Follow through without overpromising.

We help answer questions about our installation and invoice. Duke reviews and determines the approved credit. Under the customer-credit route, you pay for the work first; an approved reimbursement is sent by check, not automatically deducted from CK’s invoice.

COMMERCIAL · PUBLIC CHARGING · FLEET SITES

DC fast charging.
A bigger project. A coordinated plan.

200 kW DC FAST CHARGING

Plan a high-power charging site.

Review charger specifications, parking layout, electrical capacity, equipment placement and the utility connection. Installation scope and feasibility are confirmed through site assessment and required design review.

400 kW DC FAST CHARGING

Coordinate capacity from the start.

Higher-power stations require careful utility coordination. We help define the electrical work, service requirements, equipment interfaces and installation sequence before a written proposal.

CREDIT APPLICATION SUPPORT

Navigate Duke’s process.

We help prepare project information, coordinate questions with Duke and organize the paid itemized invoice, approved permit and installation schematic required for credit review. Submission on your behalf requires appropriate authorization.

The commercial credit supports qualifying site-preparation infrastructure—not the charger equipment, charger installation or permitting costs. Utility service upgrades can affect the credit; a utility construction contribution is not covered by this credit. Contact Duke early in planning.

The commercial application above is Duke Energy Carolinas’ linked application. Confirm your utility territory and current requirements with Duke; a Duke Energy Progress account may require a different application. The final credit application follows completed qualifying work and paid documentation.

Commercial installations receive a site-specific written proposal, not a residential hourly-cart estimate. Share charger quantity and rating, site address, utility territory, public or fleet use, and your planned timeline. Do not email Duke account passwords or sensitive account documents.

BEFORE YOU BUY OR BOOK

Your EV charging questions.

Does CK guarantee at least $1,100 back?

No. “Up to $1,133” is a maximum for qualifying Duke Energy Carolinas residential projects, not a minimum. Your costs and Duke’s eligibility review determine the amount, which can be lower or zero.

Is CK a Duke Energy approved contractor?

We do not claim Duke program approval or affiliation. This page describes using CK as your independently chosen electrical contractor through Duke’s Customer Credit Option. Duke’s separate Contractor Credit Option uses a contractor arranged through its program.

Does the credit pay for the charger itself?

Duke’s current customer-credit page contains conflicting information: its introductory text excludes charging equipment, while its coverage table marks charger hardware as qualifying. Ask Duke to confirm hardware eligibility for your application before purchasing. Do not assume mounting, commissioning or permit fees are reimbursed.

What if my panel needs an upgrade?

We assess capacity and explain your options. A charging circuit, panel work and utility service changes are different scopes. We confirm what the project needs and ask Duke to clarify any credit limitations before you rely on reimbursement.

Can you install charging stations for my business?

Yes—contact CK about commercial DC fast charging, including 200 kW and 400 kW proposals, workplace and fleet charging. See our commercial installation and Duke credit support. These projects require site-specific review; the residential $1,133 figure does not apply.
